Reminiscent of emergency carpet lighting on airplanes, Netherlands-based Lama Concept has created a RGB LED light embedded carpet.

Dubbed the Cell+Led, the woolfelt carpet allows people to find their way via the LED lights. “The strings are put together randomly so a natural pattern will evolve together with a playful finishing of the edges,” explain the designers. “Another advantage of the carpet being made out of strings is that they can be replaced by new ones.”

Carpets can also be customized with different colours and by changing the number of embedded LED lights.
