Nova Scotia has announced all highway lighting in the province switched to 120,000 LED Lights over the next five years.
According to New Democratic Party Premier Darrell Dexter, mandating the change will cost about $100 million and saving the energy about $85,000. What’s more, a switch to LED lights will create energy savings of more than 50 per cent.
It’s believed that Nova Scotia would be the first province or state in North America to have all LED streetlights.
