Reed Exhibitions and China Solid State Lighting Association Hold Taiwan Press Conference to Promote Communication and Development in LED Industry

End of December, Reed Exhibitions held a joint press conference with the China Solid State Lighting Association (CSA) in Jinghua, Taiwan. The two parties, co-organizers of Green Lighting Shanghai 2012 and CHINASSL 2012, were keen to unearth opportunities for bilateral cooperation and boost development. About 100 people, including representatives from the leading lighting companies and electronics manufacturers in Taiwan, as well as several members of the local trade and mass media, attended the press conference.

Industry experts predict that LED and traditional energy-saving lamps will go through something of a golden period in 2013.  The timing is therefore ideal for Taiwan to enhance its LED lighting brands and capitalize on the advantages of the mainland market, to establish itself as a key hub for LED lighting OEMs.
During the press conference, Ruan Jun, Deputy Secretary-General of the CSA, analyzed the policy trends of China’s semiconductor lighting market and talked of the many changes it was undergoing.  He also discussed how the resultant opportunities for bilateral cooperation will create a new development space for the LED lighting industry chain.

In 2012, Reed Exhibitions, China’s leading exhibition organizer, together with the CSA, will hold two LED industry events: Green Lighting Shanghai 2012 (April 25 to April 27 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center) and CHINASSL 2012 (November 7 to November 9 in Guangzhou). The two events will comprehensively cover all the equipment, raw materials, technologies, products and applications related to their lighting segments.
Michiel Kruse, Vice President of Reed Exhibitions East China, said, “It was important for us to come here to promote Green Lighting Shanghai and CHINASSL because Taiwan is undergoing an impressive period of development and there are huge opportunities for the LED industry here.  We also wanted to enhance bilateral trade and create an accessible, productive platform for development through these two lighting events.”

According to Mr. Kruse, in 2012, Green Lighting Shanghai and CHINASSL will comprehensively showcase the world’s most advanced manufacturing equipment, materials and products for various applications in the lighting field. Already, a large number of high profile local and international companies have booked booths at the event. They include Nichia, Seoul Semiconductor, Epistar, APT, Hangzhou Zhongwei, Everfine photo-e-info, Sensing, Jiangsu Nata, ROHM Semiconductor, Stanley, Everlight, Hangke, Yantai Darbond and Wanban.

NEPCON China, the largest trade event for Asia’s electronics manufacturing and SMT industry, will be collocated with Green Lighting Shanghai in 2012. Together, the events will span over 40,000 sqm, and feature the newest innovations from more than 700 of the world’s top electronics manufacturing and LED lighting companies to 20,000+ trade visitors.

Japan, South Korea and Taiwan will each send exhibiting delegations to display their local industries’ most cutting edge products and technologies.  Over three days, nearly 100 local and international experts will give talks on a diverse range of engaging topics. A crowd of 1,200 trade professionals is expected to make up the audience for these speeches.

For the first time, in 2012, NEPCON China and Green Lighting Shanghai will be held at the highly rated Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center.  Green Lighting Shanghai will feature a brand new Ideal Lighting segment, in conjunction with Lights and Design magazine. By replicating the diverse lighting environments of hotels, clubs, museums, roads, landscapes, displays, conference rooms and other buildings, the Ideal Lighting feature will showcase the versatility of LED lighting for various indoor and outdoor spaces, adding a charming artistic element to the event.

Five trade associations (the Taiwan Electronics Association, the Taiwan Lighting Fixture Export Association, the Taiwan Optoelectronic Semiconductor Industry Association, the Taiwan Flat Panel Display Materials & Components Association, and the LED Manufacturers and Application Association) have pledged to send local exhibition groups, as well as Taiwanese buyers with high purchasing intent, to CHINASSL 2012 and Green Lighting Shanghai 2012.
