Recent years, Zhongshan City made a breakthrough in development via city upgrade strategy. Its Zhongshan Ancient Town cooperated with China Everbright Group to establish a core project of the strategy named Global Lighting Industry Center with an estimated investment of RMB 8.5 billion. The first project of the Center is Lamp King.
 
The whole project will be divided into three phases in 7 years from 2012 to 2018. According to the plan, the project will occupy an area of 430,000㎡and total construction area of 1.7 million sq.m, including Lamp King commercial zone, headquarter office zone and comprehensive commercial and residential zone.
 
The Lamp King of the first phase is expected to break ground this year. It will occupy an area of 50,000㎡and stand 300 meters high. The project covers the construction of lighting museum, sightseeing platform and restaurant, urban saloon, industrial theme hotel, industrial service center, commercial life center, etc.
