Panasonic announced that it plans to sell 12 million
LED bulbs in Japan market since from April 2012 to March 2013. This number is 1.5 times of its sales of last year (from April 2011 to March 2012).
To pave the way for the sales target, the company will release a new
LED bulb equivalent to 40 W incandescent, which consumes 6.4 W of power and has brightness of 85 lumens as well as lasts 40000 hours.
According to Panasonic, in 2010, the total number of demand for
LED light bulbs is 25.54 million. Panasonic estimated this year, the number will up to 30 million.
