Nua
light has appointed Dr. Berry Kock as Chief Technical Officer, who is previously head of Philips
LightLabs in the Netherlands. His appointment will support the Irish group’s global expansion plans which have seen its staff numbers exceed 200 across Europe and North America in just five years.
Dr. Kock’s appointment is part of Nua
light’s strategy to expand into full-store
LED lighting and follows on from the acquisition of Lumoluce in September 2011 which brought two new competence centres to the group in terms of point source
lighting and power management.
Prior to leading the Philips
LightLabs operation, Kock directed the back-end development of Philips
Lighting’s compact fluorescent lamp category between 2001 and 2007 and was responsible for operations in Mexico, Poland, China and the Netherlands. Between 1994 and 2001, he undertook various pioneering roles for Philips Lumi
leds.
