New York based Urban Health Plan (UHP) has made an order for a full range of LED products worth $350,000, from Wayne, PA based firm Independence LEDfor cutting energy consumption.
This community health center began construction on a 54,000 square foot addition to its main site at 1065 Southern Blvd, Bronx, NY, and it wanted to ensure that the building was energy efficient.
"This LED initiative is in line with a key aspect of our Vision to 'focus on incorporating state of the art technology'. It also aligns well with one of our seven core Values 'Innovation' to take a transformational approach to healthcare. Running an energy-efficient facility is a primary concern for Urban Health Plan; it is consistent with all of UHP's cost-savings initiatives." Paloma Hernandez -- President & CEO, UHP
"We applaud the leadership of UHP and the Development Support Team. We see this work as a model for other medical centers, hospitals and clinics that often have much of their facility illuminated 24/7." Charlie Szoradi -- Chairman & CEO, Independence LED.
