ity Opto Technology, a world leader in high bright visible LEDs, IR devices and various lighting modules based in Taiwan, has been designated as an exclusive LED backlight supplier for Nexus 7, the first tablet computer co-developed by Asus and Google. Nexus 7 also uses touch-screen technologies from Hydis, a panel manufacturer based in South Korea, and LED chips from Taiwan based Formosa EpitaxyIncorporation (Forepi).
As Nexus 7 scheduled to be launched in America this month, Unity has begun shipping LED backlights at least two to three months ago. Since April, Unity has shipped over three million LED backlights for Nexus 7, and its shipments for “
