Silian Instrument Group Corporation Limited (SIC group)has recently collaborated with Chongqing Highway Group to set Chongqing Silian Transport Technology Company with the intention of joint effort to seize domestic LED roadway lighting market.

In 2008, Silian acquired Honeywell ’s sapphire business in its Canadian facility. Silian Group’s subsidiary Silian Optoelectronic, together with facilities in Chongqing Liangjiang New District, is capable of delivering annual output of 3 million 2-inch sapphire substrates, 1.2 billion LED packaging components and 20 million wattage LED lighting products.

According to Silian Group, LED roadway lights produced by Silian Optoelectronic have been deployed across Pingdingshan, Lanzhou, Huangshan, Liupanshui, etc. In addition, LED lighting system in Chongqing Yuwu Highway and Beibei city also use Silian products. Meanwhile, manufactures in France, the USA and Japan place orders for the company’s sapphire products.

Silian reckons that the first half of this year has seen sales revenue growth reaching 17%, with total profit and exports increasing by 18% and 24.8% respectively. LED business contributes a lot to the company’s growth. Silian Optoelectronic targets 1.2 billion yuan in manufacture and sales for this year based on 400 million yuan in 2011.
