According to the announcement made by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on June 18, 2012, Sichuan Sunfor Lighting Co. Ltd’s “R&D and industrialization of phosphor conversion coating and components for AC LED lighting” has been approved into special funding plan for national strategic new industries development. The subsidy represents 10 million yuan.

The project is focused on the industrialization of phosphor, conversion coating and components by adopting core technologies of AC LED- use phosphor, light conversion coating, integrated packaging process, new heat dissipation material and LED lighting optics. The production capacity targets 2 tons per year LED phosphor, 3000 square per year lightconversion coating, and 2 million units per year light conversion components. The products deliver greater-than-90% quantum efficiency, lower-than-10% light decay within 1000 hours, brightness at 150℃ above 85% of that at room temperature condition. All packaging components generate more than 130lm/W in efficacy with above 50,000-hour lifespan. The project construction location is in Chengdu City, Sichuan province and construction period is set to be 3 years.

The support of national special funding proves Sunfor’s R&D level and strength, which will have demonstration effect on LED technology R&D and industrialization and will stimulate the development of rare earth and rare metal industry.
