Hyperion Geocrystal announced that the company has produced 10-inch sapphire ingot and yield reaches up 80%. For the 10-inch sapphire ingot, currently there are Taiwanese makers showing cooperation intention.

“In the global market, following Rubicon and Monocrystal, we are the third worldwide and the first in China that can make 10-inch ingot.”said Hyperion Geocrystal’s president Fang Jianxiong. He also added that the adoption of advanced thermal control method can generate 12-inch ingot and the company planned on pilot manufacture of 12-inch sapphire substrate in the next year.
 
Fang Jianxiong reckoned that its 4-inch and 6-inch sapphire substrates that started mass production back in Feb have entered Japanese and Korean markets. However, Japanese and mainland combined market represent the largest market for the company, with each accounting for 30% of the company’s revenue, and Taiwan for 25% and Korea for 15%.

Currently monthly capacity is equivalent of 60,000 4-inch substrates and annual capacity in 2014 is projected to be equivalent of 4 million 4-inch substrates. Fang Jiangxiong unveiled the company’s sales target: in 2013, annual sales reach 50 million dollars and in 2014, the full operation of all equipment generates sales of above 150 million dollars.
