On August 6, Shenzhen Municipal People’s Congress announced that Shenzhen Municipal Development and Reform Commission are cooperating with Bureau of Urban Management and other bureaux on working out the retrofit plan for the city’s LED streetlights with EMC service, and strive to complete the LED streetlights retrofit in 3 years.Meanwhile, it also plans to realize the aim of reducing 20% energy consumption in the construction area of public establishments during the 12^th Five Year by stimulating the public establishments to participate in adopting EMC service.
 
The number of Shenzhen LED streetlights ranks in the forefront among large and medium cities. As of the end of 2011, the city has up to 23,000 LED streetlights, of which about 10,000 units were installed with the EMC service, accounting for more than 40% of total.
