wards for its College Support Program at the National Association of Electrical Distributors’
(
NAED) sponsored by the association’
s
publication, The Electrical Distributor (tED) magazine. Prescolite took top supplier honors in the category of Public Relations/Community Outreach.
To establish a connection with college students early in their careers, Prescolite reached out to professors at six of the country’
s
top-ranked architecture and engineering programs. Through the collaboration, the company learned there was an interest –
a
mong professors and students –
t
o learn about the benefits of LED lighting technology, as well as the challenges in designing with solid-state lighting.
To support the colleges’
c
urriculum, Prescolite offered Fundamentals of LED educational materials –
a
nd even product selection guides for advanced classes at the selected universities.
Additionally, the company provided 50 LED downlighting products to Studio 804, a group of graduate students at the University of Kansas’
S
chool of Architecture. The fixtures were used in the new on-campus Center for Design Research, which supports the architecture program.
