Remote phosphor is a disruptive trend in LED lighting system design creating opportunity for lighting customers and partners to generate competitive advantage in their markets. Several new LED lighting system manufacturers have adopted ChromaLit in their designs including light bulbs and area lighting and have lowered costs of production and increased performance.
Compared to conventional LED designs, where blue chips are coated with a phosphor compound, ChromaLit, now available through Arrow Electronics, uses a phosphor composite separated from the blue LED energy source. This architecture provides reduced system costs, more efficient manufacturing processes, exceptional light quality and up to 30 percent higher system efficacy.
“Intematix ChromaLit remote phosphor is a critical addition to our LED portfolio,” said Eric Williams, vice president of global lighting for Arrow Electronics. “We are pleased to offer these smart solutions to our customers.”
Arrow offers a broad line of LED lighting solutions along with engineering and design support through their Lighting Design Center and other tools.
“Intematix’s distribution business with Arrow allows us to serve a larger slice of the lighting market,” said Steve Barlow, chief commercial officer at Intematix. “Arrow, as an industry leader in the LED solutions market, will provide Intematix access to additional blue LED and associated products, enhancing our joint market expansion. This distribution agreement further enables well-supported solutions to customers in need of remote phosphor lighting.”
