Techshot Lighting LLC, a contract new product development company, has installed lighting systems for the U.S. Army. The order values at about $235,000. Most of the 750 units sold were installed in tents housing military personnel at Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan.
 
The company, based in Floyds Knobs, Ind., produces a bright LED lighting system that has been designed to provide years of trouble-free continuous use in harsh environments, while using a fraction of the energy of older fluorescent technology.
 
In addition to the Army, the U.S. Marine Corps also has purchased sets of the lighting systems for use in Afghanistan and bases in the United States.
