Recently, the provincial government office of Hu’nan released the Implementation Plan on Retrofit Projects for Municipal Green Lighting of Hu’nan province. According to the Plan, from 2014 to June of 2015, the municipal green lighting retrofit projects will cover all 29 cities and 13 prefecture-level cities and Jishou city will complete the retrofit projects. By 2017, all cities and towns above the county level must complete the retrofit projects for 1 million streetlights, aiming to save energy by 40% generally.
 
The Plan promotes to adopt LED energy saving lamps, high-efficiency HPS and metal halide lamp. The municipal green lighting retrofit projects will be included in the provincial key projects to enjoy the preferential policies and examined and approved in accordance with the relevant provisions of the policy of Green Channel.
