For the media coverage that CSOT affiliated to TCL tempted senior directors from
AUO with fat salary, thereby stealing confidential technologies, CSOT issued a statement on October, 17 that the move that competitors filed a lawsuit against former employees cramped talent flow, and individual legal right to work should not be violated.
The spokesman for
AUO said the case has entered judicial process, and
AUO would vigorously defend its intellectual property rights to safeguard shareholders' interests.
Lian Shuichi, the former assistant manager of Display Development Center of
AUO, now serving as vice president of Industrial Institute of TCL Group stated the accusation that he stole confidential technologies was all a frame-up.
Recently, it was reported that Mr. Lian succumbed to the temptation of fat salary and channeled such panel advanced technologies as
AUO AMOLED technology, image quality optimization technology, higher penetration product technology, high contrast/image quality product technology and 4MASK manufacturing technology into TCL Group. Meanwhile, Wang Yifan was prevailed upon by Mr. Lian to head AMOLED Development Division of CSOT affiliated with TCL.
But Lian Shuichi proclaimed that the foregoing supposed confidential technologies were either disclosed in research papers or patents or has been virtually mass produced in the industry, they were all open and publicly known, rather than trade secrets.
