Workers from Management Office of Corridor Lighting Project in
Lanzhou are replacing corridor incandescent lamps with LED. Up to now, 90% of residential building corridor lamps in Chengguan district have been replaced. All the residential building corridor lights will be retrofitted with LED lamps by the end of the year, benefiting 180 thousand households, said Mr. Tian, the head of Management Office of Corridor Lighting Project.
According to sources, this replacement project entails 80 thousand LED lamps and costs 2.16 million yuan. The wherewithal is collected by Management Office of Corridor Lighting Project, though
Lanzhou city government has subsidized 600 thousand yuan through energy-saving and emission-reducing special funds.
Mr. Tian said the policy that incandescent lamp would be phased out within 5 years was introduced to forcefully save energy and reduce emission last year. In a bid to benefit
Lanzhou citizens as soon as possible, Management Office of Corridor Lighting Project progressively replaced residential building corridor lights in Chengguan district since October last year. The replacement project has expanded into other districts like Qilihe, Anning and Xigu this year, involving 80 thousand LED lamps and 180 thousand households.
So far, 40 thousand incandescent lamps have been replaced, and 90% replacement has come to fruition in Chengguan district. All replacement work is slated for completion before May 1, 2013, however, it will be done in later 2012.
Separately, the power of incandescent lamp is 15 W, while LED lamp's power is just one fifth of the former, thus it stands to reason that the latter boasts better energy-saving property. What is more, the service life of LED lamp is 10 times as much as that of incandescent lamp.
