On October 23, Nanjing High Accurate Drive Equipment Manufacturing Group Co., Ltd. held the ground-breaking ceremony for its HB-LED sapphire substrate project at Baotou Equipment and Manufacturing Industry District. This project will run in phases, and in phase one, 1 billion- yuan fixed investment will be used to deliver no less than 160 sapphire crystal growth furnaces. The designed capacity is expected to be realized within 2 years, with annual output achieving 3 billion yuan.

In the first nine months of this year, industrial enterprises above designated size in Baotou City achieved 97.5 billion yuan in added value of industrial output and realized the goal of steady growth. Especially in the first three quarters, 351 major industry projects across the city, which is 18 more than the plan made early in the year, have started or restored operation. Major projects in 9 counties and rare earth high-tech area have reached 100% or even more in operation launch and resumption of work, with completed investment of 96 billion yuan, a growth of 11.2% year-over-year. A batch of important projects with high technology and promising market prospect are proceeding well, and some of them have already finished or will soon start production.
