According to the Bureau of Industry and Information of Haikou City, Haikou has launched a retrofit project for 200 150W HPS lamps with semiconductor lighting in Qiongshan, Longhua and Xiuying this year. The city is undertaking the semiconductor lighting trial retrofit for about 300 streetlights in some sections of Bingjiang West Road and plans to complete 2000 streetlights by the end of this year.

After completing the retrofit of 2000 streetlights, the city will popularize the application of LED lighting in all city roads with the model of EMC, and then promote the application of LED lighting in roads, railway stations, ports, park, tourist attractions, large public building and other areas. According to the plan, the city will complete the retrofit in all main roads by 2013 and adopt 10,000 lamps of semiconductor lighting and its mixed lighting by 2015.

The program aims to promote the application of semiconductor lighting and its mixed lighting products and enhance the upgrade of lighting products in roads, railway stations, ports, park, tourist attractions, large-scale public buildings and other key areas by implementing demonstration projects.
