A fire broke out at Guangzhou Giantlight Optoelectronics that specializes in the manufacturing of LED lighting fixtures at around 7: 30 am on November 6^th, 2012. Guangdong provincial safety production committee office reported on November 7^th that burned area was around 100 square meters and it caused 3 deaths and 6 injuries. The cause of this accident is still under  investigation. 
 
The fire happened at the powder coating & die bond workshop where the workers were using diluents and acetone to clean equipment at that time. This accident has drawn high attention from provincial leadership which thus has ordered necessary precautions be taken to prevent fire accidents 
during the 18^th National Congress.
