Administration of Quality and Technology Supervision of Guangdong Province has conducted a quality investigation on self-ballasted fluorescent lamps for general lighting.

This investigation has covered 37 batches of self-ballasted fluorescent lamps for general lighting produced by 37 enterprises located in 7 cities of Guangzhou, Foshan, Shunde, Jiangmen, Zhongshan and Dongguang. 11 batches have been found unqualified and fraction defective is 29.7%. Tested items have included PowerPort disturbance, lamp power, energy efficiency level, electric-shock safeguard, CRI, color tolerance, initial efficacy/flux, harmonic wave, interchangeability, mechanical strength and others.

Administration of Quality and Technology Supervision of Guangdong Province has instructed its municipal subordinates to handle with these substandard products and their manufacturers according to related laws and regulations.
