Philips has updated the Fortimo LED SLM system to the third generation, which can be used for both powerful spot lighting solutions and compact stylish downlight fixtures. The new generation comes with the latest Chip-On-Board (COB) LED technology creating a powerful, compact and uniform light source for excellent beam control and small beam angles. The SLM Gen3 modules produce high quality of light and deliver an energy efficiency performance of over 100Lm/W on system level at application conditions.

The Fortimo LED SLM Gen3 system has been designed with luminaire manufacturers needs in mind, offering many passive cooling opportunities due to its high Tc-point of 75C and its decreased thermal load as a benefit of the improved efficiency. The Fortimo LED SLM Gen3 produces colour points that are identical to the benchmark in retail lighting: the Philips MASTERColour CDM Elite lamp.  Next to that the small Light Emitting Surface (LES) creates the tightest beams and delivers the highest brightness. It makes the Fortimo LED SLM an excellent alternative compared to the commonly used halogen, compact fluorescent or compact HID lighting sources within retail lighting.

Fortimo LED SLM is a smart system, which means the modules work smoothly with Philips Xitanium LED drivers. This allows for a choice of dimming systems from Trailing Edge to DALI and 12V output for easy connection of active cooling systems. The Fortimo LED SLM Gen3 modules are fully backwards compatible with the 2nd generation of spotlight modules and are Zhaga compliant.
