Talent poaching is on the rise

Xiaojia, a Taiwanese working for a Xiang’an-based LED enterprise, is bothered by odds and ends recently. Apart from R&D, a new task –help with the introduction of top talents from Taiwan, was assigned to Xiaojia. “As more cases concerning talent poaching coupled by offers of rising paychecks, it turns out to be a tougher job.” He said with a shrug of disappointment.   
 
Coinciding with Xiaojia’s claim, almost all enterprises interviewed recently have revealed their plans of recruiting talents from their competitors. “As we conclude this year’s work, we are busy with the round-ups and accountings as well as recruitment,” commented by head of GOPRO. Taiwan, as a neighbor over the straits, is becoming an important source of talent poaching for many LED enterprises in Xiamen. According to statistics released by Taiwan’s media, talents of Taiwan origin in management positions with over 5 years corresponding experience would be paid 4.5 times higher in mainland than in Taiwan.   
  
He Kaijun, an LED expert in Xiamen reckoned that those much-needed talents always work for big enterprises and will always stay there, while Xiaojia claimed that experienced and competent talents are needed midst corporate development, the source of which, either by on-the-job training or by poaching from business rivals. Many would prefer the latter, which have entailed similar hostile reactions from others
