ETi released an announcement concerning its second private placement in August, 2011, expecting to raise RMB 3.5 billion. In the meantime, Wang Donglei claimed” It is the most significant financing case in LED industry in China.” Yet it proves to be undesirable with an outcome of only RMB 1.522 bn.

ETi still cannot get rid of its embarrassment in the three-year LED industry layout which embodies as ‘big but hollow’ , despite the alliance with Wu Changjiang’s NVC. According to ETi’s Q3 report in 2012, merely 38 out of ETi’s 80 MOCVDs are in full operation, another 5 are used for R&D, with operation capacity slightly above 50%.
