Signed in October 2010, Shanghai Advanced Silicon’s LED project in Chongqing had begun its construction in April 2011, and will later kick start the mass production in January. With a total investment of RMB 1.5bn, monthly production capacity would increase from 300,000 to 600,000 pieces.
 
Shiyu, CEO of Chongqing Advanced Silicon, has predicted that prices of LED appliances will be reduced by 1/3 while luminance quality would be improved by 30% one year into the project. In the next 3-5 years, cost will be reduced by about 50%, which would contribute to the green energy movement of the industry.
