Wang Micheng, delegate of Hangzhou Municipal People’s congress, is calling for greater support to propel the development of local LED lighting industry. He suggests that Hangzhou should install 1 million more LED lights within 3 years from 2013 to 2015 and seek to create leading LED companies that with asset (exclusively for their LED sector) in excess of RMB 5bn during the 12^th Five-Year Plan period. 

Now Hangzhou has more than 200 LED-related lighting companies and has formed an almost complete LED industry chain covering epitaxy, chips, packaging, testing equipment, phosphors, silicon, driving supplies and applications. However, until now, these companies still live in the shade of the primitiveprice competition mode and less than 5 of those are able to gain the competitive edge in domestic market.
