After one year’s construction, Chongqing Chaogui’s 2 to 6-inch LED sapphire and 8-inch IC silicon wafer project, the major high-tech project of Liangjiang New District in China, was initiated in Shuitu High-tech Zone. The project is expected to achieve annual output value of RMB 3.7bn once in full operation and Liangjiang New District will then complete its LED industry chain.

Insiders estimated that customers can buy LED lamp one third cheaper than now and the brightness will be enhanced by 30% one year later. The manufacturing cost is expected to be reduced by around 50% in the next three to five years.
