Since the second half of last year, global leading LED chip makers like Cree and SemiLEDs have accelerated their paces in increasing their presence in China, which has delivered unprecedented stress of competition on China’s LED chip section.

With the increasing presence of overseas contenders, competition for the talents is inevitable and the extent of which getting more intensified. However, there are insufficient official training organizations in China that offer systematic development of LED epi-wafer and chip professionals, which means the country is hungry for talents in this particular sector.

Liang Bingwen，president of Suzhou Nanojoin Photonics Co., Ltd. and researcher of Suzhou Institute of Nano-Tech and Nano-Bionics (SINANO), CAS, said it is of uttermost importance that China’s LED chip makers build their own core management & technology teams.
